Welcome to noiseless joy

Hello and welcome. My name is Joy Pfeiffer and this is the place where I keep my writing. You might have stumbled upon this site from r/nosleep, where I’ve had some success with my story “We tried to keep them out. We tried to bar the door. We are so, so sorry.”, or perhaps you’re here as a fellow NaNoWriMo 2017 contestant. Maybe you’re just lost and have no idea how or why you got here. Whatever it is, thanks for stopping by.

I am a thirty-something living in northern California with an adorable black cat named Salem and a tabby named Ruth Bader Meowsburg. I am a copywriter by day, but in my spare time I write everything from poetry to horror fiction to essays about my life and experiences as a woman, a survivor of abuse, and a person living with depression anxiety. When I am not writing, I’m also a voracious reader, podcast enthusiast, coffee and burrito imbiber, and adult coloring book obsessed. My home is cluttered with books, horror memorabilia, adorable everything, and enough makeup to stock at least one Sephora.

The way I see it, world is a massive, never-ending abandoned mansion, and I want to open every door and peer into the shadows to see what lurks in the dark; exploring the vast darkness of humanity is where my passion lies. I want to share my writing with the world and get the nightmares out of my head and onto the page. If you enjoy my writing, please let me know. You can email me at noiselessjoy@gmail.com.

Stay afraid,

Joy
